Doomscrolling in the Afternoon
Where Good Vibes Go to Die

Star Fucking Hipsters. From the Dumpster to the Grave
From the dumpster to the grave
We’ll never be a system slave
We’ll take our food from garbage cans
While they’re starving in a foreign land
Do the dishes in the sink
Scoop the grease trap, take a drink
Clean-plate club keeps us alive
Every time we dumpster-dive
[Chorus]
And from the dumpster to the grave
We’ll eat your trash and misbehave
We all wallow in loneliness
Then wonder why we’re so depressed
Digging through your toxic waste
We find the crumbs to suit our taste
Our guts are an abysmal cave
From the dumpster to the fucking grave
[Verse 2]
From the cradle to the end
The pigeons are our closest friends
We’ll forage always after dark
Then chill with squirrels down in the park
From the dumpster to the stench
Fine dining on a city bench
With gourmet finds, it must be true
That America is paved with food
And in the gutter where we lay
No health care, not a dollar’s pay
We’ll take our food from garbage cans
While they’re starving in a foreign land
Starving in a foreign land
Starving in a foreign land
Starving in a foreign
[Chorus]
So, from the dumpster to the grave
We’ll never shower, sometimes shave
We never fucking wash our clothes
All stinkin’ drunk at punk rock shows
Digging through your toxic waste
We find the crumbs to suit our taste
Our guts are an abysmal cave
From the dumpster to the fucking grave
[Saxophone Interlude]
[Chorus]
And from the dumpster to the grave
We’ll eat your trash and misbehave
We all wallow in loneliness
Then wonder why we’re so depressed
Digging through your toxic waste
We find the crumbs to suit our taste
Our guts are an abysmal cave
From the dumpster to the fucking grave

Happy Wednesday.

Lead: Israel Ignores U.S. Demands

credit: cnn
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken asked leaders in Israel to disavow plans to lay siege to northern Gaza but they refused. This is referred to as the General’s Plan and the U.S. really wanted Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to deny it but, according to The Times Of Israel, “he and his aides demurred.”
Israeli soldiers told Haaretz last week that this plan is already underway. One soldier said this: “The goal is to give the residents who live north of the Netzarim area a deadline to move to the south of the Strip. After this date, whoever will remain in the north will be considered an enemy and will be killed.”
The U.S. has to pretend not to know this while they ask for a ceasefire and hostage exchange in Israel.
Meanwhile, Israel claims that it has proof that at least six Al Jazeera journalists are Hamas. According to the Times of Israel, “Al Jazeera has fiercely denied Israel’s allegations and accused it of systematically targeting Al Jazeera employees in the Gaza Strip.”
Recently a 19 year-old journalist was killed by the IDF in Gaza just days after he said he had been warned to stop filming in the region.
U.K. Meddling in U.S. Election

The Trump campaign filed an Federal Election Commission (FEC) complaint against the UK’s Labour Party, accusing it of “blatant foreign interference” in the US election. Members of the party are campaigning for the Harris-Walz campaign, according to many reports.
The BBC says that the “Labour activists campaigning in the US presidential election are doing so in a personal capacity.” Does that make it okay? FEC rules allow foreign nationals to serve as campaign volunteers as long as they are not compensated. But a Labour campaigner offered volunteer trips to the U.S. to “help our friends across the pond elect the first female president” and to “show those Yanks how to win elections!”
In 2016, the Australian Labor Party was fined for doing something similar for the Bernie Sanders campaign.
The campaign is asking the FEC to open an investigation into this matter.
Trans Athletes DO Take Medals from Women

credit: youtube
Do trans athletes take medals from female athletes? Yes. Yes they do.
A new report from the United Nations finds that “over 600 female athletes in more than 400 competitions have lost more than 890 medals in 29 different sports.” The report says that “the replacement of the female sports category with a mixed-sex category has resulted in an increasing number of female athletes losing opportunities, including medals, when competing against males.”
Trans activists like to pretend that this is not the case and often say that women should focus on participation instead of winning when pitted against men. The report correctly says that testosterone testing is not sufficient to level the playing field because “testosterone suppression for genetically male athletes…will not eliminate the set of comparative performance advantages they have already acquired.” The report says that “to avoid the loss of a fair opportunity, males must not compete in the female category of sport.” Full stop.
Recently trans golfer Nicole Powers said that stopped competing in women’s golf competitions because he realized that it was unfair. He said that when he competed with women he had to “lay off a little bit” on his game because he knew he “wouldn’t feel right” taking awards away from women.
What’s Trending?

McDonald’s Quarter Pounders are trending because the CDC announced an outbreak of E.coli linked to the hamburger. McDonald’s recalled the Quarter Pounder in 10 states.
Rudy Giuliani is trending because a court in Georgia ordered that he hand over many expensive assets to Georgia election workers that he allegedly defamed. The assets include his New York City apartment, sports memorabilia, more than two dozen luxury watches and a 1980 Mercedes once owned by movie star Lauren Bacall.
Joe Rogan is trending on news that President Trump will appear on his podcast on Friday. Rogan has at least 14 million subscribers on Spotify and 17 million subscribers on YouTube.

8. That is how many suitcases the new Airbus planes can accommodate in the overhead compartment, compared to just five in previous models. This is due to the new L-shaped bins. Does this mean that airlines won’t charge for carryons now? Probably not.

Trust in Corporate Media Hits All Time Low

credit: gallup
This chart says so much. According to a new Gallup poll, trust in the media is plummeting for all partisan groups and the media does not seem to be even trying to earn it back.
The chart shows that the pandemic was good for Democrats’ trust in the media. Trust skyrocketed to all-time highs during Covid lockdowns and vaccine mandates but even Democrats can’t answer for those things any more and many must be wondering why the media did not report the pandemic honestly. Is there another plausible explanation on this drop?
Republicans have pretty much given up on the media altogether. 12% is pitiful but it is up from the all-time low of 10% in 2020. Do you see it ever recovering?
This same poll shows that people under 50 have the lowest trust in the media. It also shows that Americans trust the media less than any branch of government.
